Soooo that time is coming and everyone loves a bit of tech stuff.... well if you don't, you should... 'nuff said!!
Everything I had added here has at least a 4 Star Rating on Amazon based
on at least 50 Customers reviews, usually many more. These items are
the top sellers in their categories. Also I have tried to find gifts that a person would use for a
long time, not just a one time or short term gift (such as a dinner gift
certificate) - I mean you can only use it once, belly gets full, u get the 'itis and that's your certificate gone.
We'll start off at #10:
#10 - Gaming Console
There is such a variety of games available that even the most anti-gamer
could find something to entertain themselves, however, a word of
warning, these things can be addicting! Some people will get so involved
in the games that they will disappear from society for days at a time and come out with raccoon eyes.
Don't blame me, I warned you! Ladies, I would strongly suggest you
consider how much time you want to sacrifice with your man before buying
one of these for him! :) But believe you me, he'll love you forever ---- *hint hint*
#9 - iPod or MP3 Player
An iPod or MP3 Player is a great gift. They also range greatly in price. I have an iPod. I
love it. So easy to use. Holds photos, music, videos, movies, TV shows
etc. What better way to block out the
screaming baby on that 6 or 8 hour flight or a bus/ mini bus or ZR ride than a mp3 player? Just zone out, but don't miss your stop or important notices over the P.A cause you only have yourself to blame then not the tech product......
#8 - Laptop Computer
A good laptop can negate the need for a home computer entirely. Perfect for students - you would want your child to succeed when going off to study, right?? (students - you can thank me later :D ), also great for anyone on the go!
Laptops can range between $700 (netbooks) and upward, depending on brand, storage space, speed and popularity. You can a choice between a PC loaded with Windows or you can drop Linux on it (more on this OS another time) or a MAC. I'm not going into any war between MAC and PCs right now but soon tho lol, veeery soon.
Whether you're a MAC fanboy or a Windows lover, a laptop is a great gift for anyone. Shameless plug - Also check out PC SAFEGUARD :D
#7 - GPS Portable Navigator (never stop to ask for directions again!!!)
These are great for travelling or finding your way around the place, we got alot of nooks and crannies in this island. When they're portable like these, you can take them anywhere, especially on walks or hikes. Going off-roading in the Sammi, take this with you.
Now people are gonna ask, how would this be used in Barbados as it's mainly a US or UK feature.... wrong! We have BajanNav, click on the link to follow the site where you can get a FREE download of the software and installation instructions.
#6 - eBook Reader
Now if you're a long time reader and a lover of books, you maybe reluctant in accepting these, you may probably think you're staring at yet another computer screen but smaller, not gonna smell the pages or the feeling of an actual printed book. However, for travel and purse carry (ladies) or man-purse (don't ask) carry, these are awesome! No longer do you have to squeeze 3 books and magazines in your carry on or in your purses.
The newer versions are smaller, lighter and easy on the eyes. When you're simply waiting on someone, just pull it out and read as many as you can on this ONE device, or if you got good coverage, download a new one. Simple enough? I think so too.
#5 - Video Camcorder
Capture those valued memories in motion. Everyone loves to watch themselves and loves ones on movies especially unscripted ones. Easy to use, small and light weight, some even offer the ability to capture freeze frame for image prints. Very easy to load onto your computer or plug right into your TV and most are HD (niiiiiceeee) video quality.
#4 - Blu-ray Player
So everytime we decide to change or update our favourite movie collection, they just up and change up the format. We've gone from VHS, to DVD and now Blu-ray DVD, i mean c'mon now! Are you gonna make up your mind already?
But hey, this is actually a great piece of tech, although I'm tired of throwing out obsolete equipment every few yrs or stock piling it in a corner (yes, you know who you are, that corner needs tidying, esp the cupboard) but it's an ever-changing world. The need for faster, smaller and smarter electronics are in high demand daily. Honestly, these are much better than DVD players - crystal clear visuals and multi formats.
#3 - Digital Camera
Ahhh digital cameras, fantastic gift idea. No more "rewinding" the film or having to wait til development to say "uhh nah, don't want that one". You can repose or delete on spot, touch up the photos using a photo editor software ie: Photoshop. Once again, lightweight and easy to use, for use at pool parties, family get-togethers etc.
For those epic trips to Europe or State-side, you can opt for a high-end camera like a SLR with the various lenses. All in all, excellent gifts and a move forward from the old time ones.
#2 - 3D-TV
While I maybe waiting forever for a TV on "Minority Report", I can at least still go on about these types. These TVs not too long came about and have some channel providers scrambling to get out TV shows in this format, few movies are already out, no worries tho regular TV is still amazing on these bad boys.
If you want a new TV go for a 3D, that way it won't be obsolete in 6-12 months (hopefully), don't forget they can still be used for regular television viewing, no need to wear those 3D glasses ALLL the time.
#1 - Tablet PC
Everyone loves to have the latest and these don't disappoint. They're great products for business men and women alike, who are on the move or just love top tech gadgets. Tablets are great for everything from gaming, eBooks etc..... even Apple is updating with various apps to enhance the iPad into the iPhone.
Awesome pieces of technology, touch screens, thin and light enough to take anywhere, everyone will want one..... I know I do.
Which one would you choose?
